Fat Matt's Rib Shack Restaurant Review:

Black-and-white photographs of blues musicians who play here every night adorn the walls, as do photos of notables in their prime, such as a young B.B. King. This classic barbecue joint is properly scruffy and rough around the edges, but the crowds who line up to place their orders don't care. The food is inconsistent, although the most reliable item seems to be the pork sandwich, a thick pile of sweet chopped smoked meat with the house tomato-vinegar sauce already mixed in. Ribs are oven-cooked, so lack the classic "smoke ring" pinkness, and then are finished off over wood. Barbecued chicken usually hits high marks. Side dishes of note include coleslaw and average beans, as well as very good collards. You can get beer, but no wine or other alcohol. Blues music occasionally turns up at lunch and it’s heard every evening at dinner.
