The Flying Chicken Restaurant Review:

Any place that offers something called “kitchen sink cookies” --- made with marshmallow, chocolate chips and bacon --- has a lot of nerve. The Flying Chicken also has a large, robust Southern/soul food menu: numerous salads, biscuits and gravy, fried pickles with rémoulade, chicken in many guises (with waffles, combo platter, nuggets, fried, tenders), and such sides as mac ‘n’ cheese, sweet potato salad, collard greens, baked beans and rice and beans. In a very casual downtown location, which once housed Elda’s, The Flying Chicken also serves such attention-getters as the FatHead Biscuit Sandwich (fried chicken, bacon, sausage gravy), grits fritters (grits, green onions, cheddar, andouille sausage) and deep-fried mac ‘n’ cheese balls with hot sauce.
