Il Posto Restaurant Review:

Situated along Denver's 17th Avenue, a bona fide restaurant strip for the stylish set, this hip trattoria buzzes from the second the doors swing open, serving contemporary Italian cuisine late into the night. Only a dozen or so tables occupy the tiny space, flanked by chalkboard menus and a busy exhibition kitchen overseen by chef-owner Andrea Frizzi, a veteran toque who's worked his way through several area restaurants. Here, his focus is on inspiring diners with a seasonal, daily-changing menu from his hometown of Milan. Frizzi makes his own pastas and uses as much local produce as possible. The results are usually well-crafted hits that we return for time and time again --- even if we are required to wait for up to an hour for a table. Our advice? Make a reservation well in advance to enjoy the risotto with pancetta, arugula, corn and stracchino or the pappardelle tangling with oyster mushrooms and Berkshire pork ragù. The wine list tilts Italian, and while it's an impressive roster, we wish there were more affordable wines by the glass.
