Zippy's has been a popular island eatery since 1966, when the first establishment opened. Down-home dishes on the daily specials menu may include chicken katsu curry, teriyaki chicken, sweet-and-sour spare ribs, Hawaiian plate and seafood chowder. The plate lunch take-out items might range from Korean chicken to hamburger steak with onions. The baked goods at the in-shop bakeries are still first-rate; you can find slices of guava chiffon cake and the must-try flaky apple turnovers.
