The interesting gumbo of contemporary American and Asian dishes includes buttermilk-fried quail; chilled watermelon soup; and king salmon and crisp escargot with herbed gnocchi, woodland mushrooms, baby beets and watercress purée---these preparations succeed on all levels. Be forewarned, though, that this is not an inexpensive place to eat. Service is expert, laid-back and proficient. Excellent wine list and many boutique vinos available by the glass.
