The Milky Way has long shown Boise residents that good food doesn’t have to be pretentious. In fact, it can be fun. In creating a lively, non-traditional atmosphere, chef-owners Mitchell and Andrea Maricich have not sacrificed quality. Located in the bustling downtown hub, the eatery lies street-side, shining brightly through extended bay windows with adjacent patio seating. The easygoing menu includes starters ranging from pot stickers and lamb stir-fry to gnocchi and veal sweetbreads. Entrées include rich red rock crab enchiladas, zesty cioppino and a hearty, pan-seared beef tenderloin. It’s all complemented by a thoughtful wine list, robust cocktails, and attentive service.
