: With an enclosed patio and twinkling overhead lights all aglow, there’s something almost magical about Moody’s Pub in the summertime, making it the perfect spot for an inexpensive date night. And when Mother Nature takes a turn for the worse, you can head indoors to the dark dining room to warm up by one of the restaurant’s two fireplaces. Don’t expect anything fancy from the menu, though --- it’s just the basics here, with half-pound burgers stealing the spotlight from less appealing choices, such as the fried shrimp basket or the grilled chicken breast sandwich. We usually stick to the Moody Blue, which comes with all the regular fixings underneath a mound of blue cheese. Cocktails are a tad more creative --- sip on a Moody’s Grand Tea (Grand Marnier with hot tea); a Moodymint (Peppermint schnapps, hot chocolate and whipped cream) during colder months; or a Summer Crush in warmer ones (vodka, 7-Up and orange juice). |
