Mookie's BBQ Restaurant Review:
Great Falls is home to this spicy spot --- as in its menu of seasoned barbecued meats and well-composed side dishes. The owners/chefs have operated a barbecue food truck, run a catering company and participated in cook-off competitions, so it’s clear why they’ve captured the local barbecue crowds. Besides, the inviting setting with its bar area, a closed-in verandah and an open kitchen facing the dining tables sets the scene for a total pig out. Note that it is a full-service restaurant, and despite its barbecue theme, management carries out duties in an upscale way. To eat? Whole or half racks of baby-back ribs have a smoky flavor that patrons can enhance with a choice of house-made sauces. Choose from appetizers like zingy barbecue nachos; pulled pork and brisket; and barbecue meat salads; and many aforementioned sides, such as potato salad and mac ‘n’ cheese. Desserts include a banana pudding (a real Southern fave) and a luscious fruit cobbler, worth the extra calories. Folks gather at the upfront bar for drinks and a chance to chat with others and enjoy a cocktail or two. The bartender offers special drinks on a regular basis.
