THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Napa Grille Restaurant Review:
The essence of Napa Valley imbues The Napa Grille in the Hyde Park section of Cincinnati. Don’t pass it by. Hidden on the first floor of the Regency Condos, it’s a gem, especially for wine lovers. The wine list (36 pages long) is compiled in a binder and includes information about each wine and winery, along with ratings that help make selecting a cinch. As if that’s not enough to clue you in to the spot’s bent, check out the huge brass-and-glass, temperature controlled display unit that dispenses 50 vinos; as wine is drawn from each bottle through a spigot, it’s automatically topped off with inert gas to keep the beverage from oxidizing. Napa Grille also offers about 300 wines by the bottle. A great way to try unfamiliar wines is to order a flight---four small servings---maybe along with halibut in a lobster truffle sauce and filet with creamy whipped potatoes. Other selections include the espresso-chili-rubbed Prime sirloin with chimichurri and roasted new potatoes, rack of lamb, duck and scallops. For dessert, a flight of three homemade ice creams and sorbets hits the spot. A draw for bean lovers as well, the coffee is served in a French press.
