About the restaurant: This is the original Mama Ninfa’s Tex-Mex eatery that generations have frequented. Come early to snag a table on the patio overlooking the chef's garden. Ninfa's was the first to offer complimentary green tomatillo salsa (often copied but never duplicated) with a hot basket of chips.
Food & Drinks: Anything with fajita meat --- tender, grilled skirt steak --- is a winner, while the chicken and pork versions are also good and work just as well with nachos and quesadillas as they do fajitas. Try one of the specials like carnitas, fried pork served with avocado, onions and sour cream, and don’t snub seafood dishes such as stuffed shrimp diablo. For dessert, indulge in a tres leches cake made with baked marshmallows. Weekend brunches bring the typical Tex-Mex egg dishes. Also located at 1700 Post Oak Blvd. #1-190, Houston, 346-335-2404.
