O Pie O Restaurant Review

: Homemade sweet and savory pies, a gracious proprietor, cozy surroundings and a nice selection of beer and wine make O Pie O one of Ohio's best finds. The family-run café, which got its start as a farmers market booth in downtown's Findlay Market, now calls DeSales Corner in East Walnut Hills home. For breakfast or lunch, try the Greek quiche with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and goat cheese. At dinnertime, start with a glass of wine or local craft beer. If you're dining with kids, order the hand pies with ham and cheese that are like fancy hot pockets made for dipping in the thick tomato soup. The hot-seller savory option appears to be a slice of classic chicken potpie, stuffed with Amish chicken, leeks, potatoes, carrots and peas. For something with no crust involved, go for the Woodburn chili (a thick Texas bean style) that pairs well with corn and cheese empanadas. If it's on the menu, don't miss the Honey Vinegar dessert pie, like a Chess pie with the tang of a touch of apple cider vinegar and a little salt sprinkled on top. All “crusted out” by the end of the meal? Go for some Graeter’s ice cream or an ice cream float with stout beer or soda. The best seat in the house might be at the counter, where you have a view of the open kitchen. O Pie O accommodates just 25 people inside, but has patio seating seasonally. If it's crowded, get a whole pie to go.
