Panino – Los Olivos Restaurant Review:
Tourists, locals and low-key celebrities mix at this casual yet topnotch deli in the heart of the Santa Barbara wine country. The sidewalk café ambience and certain food items hint at a European influence, but overall the fare is decidedly Californian. The Cobb salad---a Southern California original---is made with creamy Stilton blue cheese from England. Vegetarians have plenty of options, like the Black and White panino, a Mediterranean medley of kalamata olive tapenade, roasted red peppers, organic greens and garden fresh vegetables. We also recommend the turkey and Brie sandwich, with its lettuce from local farms. During the lunch hour, a well-deserved line with an eclectic mix of patrons wearing everything from cowboy garb to haute couture waits to order from the chalkboard menu. The quaint patio is an ideal spot from which to take in Los Olivos before going wine tasting. Other locations include Solvang, Santa Ynez, Santa Barbara, Montecito and Goleta.
