THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Paseo Palms Bar & Grill Restaurant Review:
This bright and casual bar-bistro brings a welcome note of breezy fun to a sometimes too well-bred street. The food is good, but executive chef Eldon Pico doesn't take himself too seriously; his menu is eclectic enough to satisfy the widest ranging tastes, and while the health-conscious can eat here comfortably, they'll be faced with some outrageous diets-be-damned temptations. The Southern deep-fried chicken skins, for example, are tempting enough to wreck any resolution. For the pure of heart, the grilled salmon on a bed of gazpacho offers strong flavor with less guilt. The bar specialties, from the "Meet Me Out Back in Five Minutes" mai tai to the "You Brought Her You Pay" piña colada, make it clear that the place isn't aiming at the genteel older Palm Desert crowd.
