Located on the main floor of the Loews Boston Hotel in the former site of the Boston Police headquarters (and the Cuffs bar), Precinct Kitchen + Bar offers New England fare in a renovated space sporting a brighter look and modern vibe, complete with charcuterie blackboard specials, gas fireplace and cowhide-covered barstools. Belly up to the busy bar where an after-work crowd flocks to order cocktails like the Cape Codder or Nor'easter and share charcuterie and New England cheese boards. During the summer months, skip going to the beach and instead grab a seat on one of two sunny patios and enjoy a clambake complete with clams, mussels, shrimp, corn on the cob, kielbasa and potatoes. The baby kale, arugula and quinoa salad should not be missed; it's filled with fresh orange, sunflower seeds and feta cheese and topped with a light citrus vinaigrette. Seafood lovers can choose from a grilled branzino or seared Georges Bank scallops, while landlubbers can go for juicy roasted chicken or tender hanger steak served with a side of fries. End the meal with Boston cream pie, a New England classic.
