Restaurant L'Academie Restaurant Review

: Situated in the middle of Montreal's trendy Plateau area, L'Académie is a popular haunt for budget diners. The place is clean, modern and comfortably set with plush chairs, dark wood and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the busy St. Denis-Duluth intersection. Unprepossessing French and Italian fare is paired with a bring-your-own wine policy. The food is competently prepared, with appealing but simple appetizers including garlic escargots or fried calamari. Similarly, the pasta vongole is perfectly acceptable served in generous portions, but might be helped with some fresh herbs. End with homemade ice cream or crème caramel.
