It's hard to expect culinary marvels from a nightlife spot, but somehow Revel hits both nails firmly on the head. On the restaurant side, Mario Lopez serves up food created from local ingredients with a modern twist, with appetizers like Long Island sweet corn bisque and crispy buffalo Sriracha chicken spring rolls with blue cheese. Mains range from an aged prime burger to a variety of top meats and steaks, or simply prepared local seafood. The bar blends a short yet adequate list of craft beers, a variety of martinis and some classic cocktails. Perhaps the true win is the effortless combination of the two, particularly given the separation of the space: a casual front dining room and bar hides a more formal rear dining room, perfect for those for whom food and not drink (and loud music) is the spotlight of the evening.
