: The name of this East Bay pizza joint references Emeryville’s disreputable past as the “rottenest city on the Pacific Coast.” Twelve different thin-crusted eighteen-inch New York-style pies (also available by the slice) are topped with quality ingredients --- Gaeta olives, roasted creminis, salt-cured anchovies, daily salumi, arugula pesto --- upping prices that locals and nearby office workers are happy to pay. Sauces and cheeses are fresh, proportions and flavors are pleasing and consistent. It’s counter service only with a handful of stools; delivery is available. There are three non-pizza items on the menu: a slow-roasted meatball Parm sub, a seasonal arugula salad and a good Caesar salad. |
