THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rouge Restaurant Review:
Set in a plush, red velvet sort of New Age-baroque spot left over from a brief prior life as a bar-lounge, Rouge is an unexpected surprise on a forlorn block. The long tapas menu is filled with goodies, the best being the boquerones---fileted fresh anchovies, marinated in olive oil and vinegar with a dab of garlic. After one bite, you'll be reluctant to share them. Rounding out the menu are the beef filet with a heady Cabrales cheese sauce; sea scallops marinated with coriander, served en brochette with both bacon and Serrano ham; an outstanding paella; and an assortment of other game and seafood dishes.
