THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Roy St. Bistro Restaurant Review:

When it’s not seething with dressed-up patrons of the arts, this intimate restaurant, housed on the lower floors of adjacent houses on a tree-lined Queen Anne street, has all the unpretentious warmth and charm of an English village dining room. You’ll find dark wood trim, sheer café curtains, crisp white tablecloths covered in crisper butcher paper, tasteful prints on the soft yellow walls, and an imposing antique sideboard prominently displaying a selection of port. Patrick Conlan, an ex-Londoner and former waiter, is the gracious host and owner. His kitchen excels in simple, rib-sticking abundance; food prepared with plenty of finesse and a lot of flavor. Hazelnut-studded lamb pâté comes adorned with puréed cilantro; a sauce of mint and citrus brighten game sausages. Wine-scented gravy binds peppery ostrich pie, replete with root vegetables and chestnuts. Fish is handled equally well, whether baked in parchment or simply grilled. Unless you’re rushing off to make a curtain, linger over a lovely cheese plate and a glass of port.
