Ruth's Chris Steak House Restaurant Review:
Most of the customers at this Ruth’s Chris branch on the second floor of Waikiki Beach Walk are tourists, but you will see the occasional local venture in for special celebrations. You can't go wrong with any of the red meat --- the steaks are done simply, with salt and pepper and not much else. Chef Leighton Miyakawa says they use such high-quality meat, there's no need to mask the flavor with sauces and seasonings. The cowboy rib-eye is a carnivore's delight, as is the filet mignon. Round out the meal with a classic spinach salad with warm bacon vinaigrette or sizzling blue-crab cakes, and save room for the bread pudding with whisky sauce. Lighter appetites will enjoy seafood choices and seasonal sorbets. Be aware that everything is à la carte and can add up. A good selection of wine is available, too. For a more reasonable meal, there is a happy hour daily from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the bar. Since it's in a high-volume tourist area, you can get a seat in the bar without reservations (upon availability).
