THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sakoontra Thai Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Much hyped, this Thai restaurant in a Fairfax shopping center has at least one tourist attraction: a tuk-tuk, the venerable motorized three-wheeler that makes traffic in Bangkok so much fun. Here, it sits serenely by the entrance. We dined here with a friend, and both of us admitted to some puzzlement over a menu that is coded by letters, such as V (a mix of vegetables), M (choice of chicken, beef, or pork), and S (single or combination of seafood---shrimp, scallop, squid, fish)---that does not include some of the items, such as the house duck. We were disappointed with some dishes---a house fried rice with raisins, for example---and were generally pleased with others, such as the duck salad and the steamed dumplings stuffed with pork and shrimp. There’s an active bar that serves up loads of somewhat tropical drinks and, because of its pretty décor, Sakoontra has clearly become a popular destination.
