THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sala Sabor de Mexico Restaurant Review:
Having been purchased by John Pulaski in 2007, Sala Sabor de México has as its new executive chef Dennis Davis, who has served as sous chef for several years. Continuity is thus assured, although changes are being planned. Longtime fans may still enjoy the house-made salsas, which burst with flavor, especially the smoky pasilla pepper. The menu lists the regional origins of each dish, making dining here a cultural as well as culinary adventure. The wine list is getting a thorough revision, but meanwhile beers and special tequilas remain the big draws. Margaritas rule, of course, but the house-made sangría remains on the list.
