THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sala Thai Restaurant Review:
Sala Thai is located in the bustling Eastern Market in downtown Detroit. Among its Thai cuisine offerings we especially like the rard na, with thick noodles in savory brown sauce with a choice of meat and seafood. Equally pleasing is the ubiquitous pad thai. But of anything on this long menu, one should not bypass the curries. They don't necessarily have to be white-hot, since like everything else they may be prepared mild to blazing. As for appetizers, the fresh rolls are fit for King Bhumibol himself, while the spring rolls aren't far behind. The crowning prelude to lunch, however, is the house version of tom yum soup, nicely spiced and completely addictive; just add shrimp or chicken to enhance its appeal.
