Salt & Pepper Restaurant Review

: Located on Macarthur Boulevard in the Palisades area of the city, this second story restaurant describes itself as “modern American” but the food is a true blend of European and Asian specials with a few Mexican tastes thrown in for kicks --- maybe that makes it truly melting-pot American. If you wind up here on the weekends, you can enjoy a substantial brunch buffet, but should you miss that, look for such dishes as the shrimp and grits or lobster mac ‘n’ cheese. Lighter meals include a lobster grilled cheese sandwich or an S & P burger served on grilled brioche. As for dessert, like the rest of the menu, the offerings snatch a bit from here, a bit from there: a classic apple pie joins a crème brûlée and a German double chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake. Ask about the wine selections as these are not featured on the menu.
