THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Samurai Restaurant Review:
Just a few steps from the always-bustling House of Blues is this longtime French-Quarter standby for fresh, pungent sushi creations and familiar Japanese specialties. Pale woods and soft lighting accent the smartly minimal design of the restaurants new location. At the 10-seat sushi bar, owner Atsushi Morishita and three helpers nimbly compose some of the citys most reliable sushi and sashimi, among them a spicy barbecue squid, delicately earthy enoki mushroom, and barbecue eel. Youll also find nigirizushi, the cigar-shaped rice nuggets topped with raw or cooked fish, and makizushi, rolls of seafood and vegetables in rice-and-seaweed wrappers.
