Established in 1999, this easy-to-like Indian restaurant has zoomed to the top of everybody’s charts in popularity. The best deal is the buffet, available at both lunch and dinner---lunch stays open until 3 p.m. The menu offers the standards of Indian cooking that Americans who are fond of this cuisine have come to enjoy. Rogan Josh, lamb with yogurt and saffron, shows its spice, but still makes a good dish to pair with wine. Indian restaurants are always strong in the vegetarian department, even when they’re not strictly vegetarian restaurants, and Shingaar Palace is no exception. This wine list is better than in most Indian restaurants, offering a few choices that go with the food. But the glassware is pitiful.
