What Washington, DC may not need is yet another Thai restaurant, since the area is already home to about 150 such restaurants. Yet the Bethesda area welcomes yet another Thai eatery, located just feet away from the Thai grande dame, Bangkok Garden. What Singh Thai offers is a contemporary setting, a mix of modern and traditional recipes and reasonable prices. We like the unusual green papaya salad with seafood, and give a thumbs-up to crispy spicy, which is battered and deep-fried watercress. Most outstanding, however, are the two interior waterfalls splashing around the Buddha head and a carved statue of the Thai goddess of water.
