Sky Lounge Steakhouse & Sushi Bar Restaurant Review:
This restaurant at Sonoma County’s Charles M. Schultz airport is just the ticket for hefty burgers and other American fare. Choose a booth under black-and-white photos of World War II era bombers, or book a patio or window seat to catch live runway action. Area workers make the short haul at lunchtime for sandwiches such as the rib-eye with blue cheese and caramelized onions or a soft shell crab BLT with wasabi mayo. For dinner, begin your approach with a wedge salad and milky-fresh ranch dressing before climbing to various cuts of Painted Hills beef. Or consider the tasty meatloaf, shaped with a light touch and flavored with Worcestershire and bacon drippings. The kitchen hasn’t yet hit full throttle, though. Sides such as spinach, candied carrots and Parmesan potatoes can upstage mains --- in flavor, execution and portion size. A sushi bar offers many different rolls and a bento box for good measure. Daily lunch specials and weekly happy hours are popular with locals. Offerings from the fully-stocked bar include Sonoma wines and beer.
