THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Spire Restaurant Review:

The Nine Zero hotel could not have existed in Boston years ago. It embodies the kind of spare, globally savvy aesthetic that was the provenance of only the most major of metropolises. Spire is its showcase restaurant. Granted, the ultramodern look---sleek in silver and lavender---isn’t for everyone, and neither is the cuisine: pricey, precise and cerebral. Until recently, it was the product of chef Gabriel Frasca; his departure has left some big shoes to fill. Time will tell if his replacement will be able to pull off signature savories like three-basil salad with Marcona almonds and almond oil-chardonnay vinaigrette, salade niçoise with grilled scallops or chilled Champagne-hibiscus soup with milk cake and sheep’s milk yogurt sorbet.
