THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Stone Oven Bakery & Cafe Restaurant Review:
This small, rather plain space is primarily a bakery, and a good one, too, but it has become a popular coffee shop with a nice menu of soups, salads and sandwiches. Two soups every day can include Florentine tomato (with spinach, of course), black bean, and Manhattan clam chowder. Salads are fairly similar with romaine, roasted red pepper, sun-dried tomato and homemade croutons; the Greek adds feta cheese and kalamata olives, the chicken version gets roasted chicken breast and theres a cheese tortellini and rotini option with fresh basil and sun-dried tomatoes. Sandwiches come on your choice of the bakerys own breads including focaccia and multi-grain, and include smoked turkey with provolone and honey-mustard, and roast beef with Emmental. And then theres the great tasting baked goods such as lemon squares, big nutty brownies, tarts, cakes, cookies, muffins, scones and filled croissants. Your server is always terrific; its you.
