Table & Main Restaurant Review

: Roswell native Ryan Pernice established stylish Table & Main in one of the town's fine, simple cottages, and it has become well-known as Roswell’s first bourbon bar. Richly burnished and rough-hewn woods create a rustic backdrop for the Southern fare that is the menu’s focus, refined but without losing its moorings. From the Carolina coast comes one of the best she-crab soups we've ever set to spoon, properly enriched with crab roe, although we respectfully recommend omitting the chili oil. The Southern fascination for pickled vegetables provides an intriguing side dish that also could serve as nibbles with drinks. An appetizer called “Preservation Plate” puts forth a bounty of preserved and cured bites, a house specialty. Pickled green tomato on the kale salad brings that ubiquitous “good for you” item back down to Southern earth. Rabbit comes as a confit with pumpkin dumplings. Georgia‘s Springer Mountain chicken provides the classic fried chicken, and there’s a pork chop with collard greens. Desserts may be fruit-based country-style treats or a pudding. The mostly American wine list includes something from other regions and even a Georgia wine (Frogtown Cellars’ Seyval Blanc). Local brews are offered on draught as well as in the can and bottle. The spirits list is deep in small-batch Bourbons and rye whiskies.
