THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tamarind Thai Restaurant Restaurant Review:
As local Thai restaurants go, Tamarind Thai is just about average, with okay food and pleasant service. What it seems to lack is patrons, for we found at a recent lunch that we ate alone in this spacious restaurant. Not evident from the road, this place sits back in a mini-mall and faces stiff competition from a mighty popular Chinese buffet across the street. If people want Asian, apparently thats where they head. On the other hand, for those who like mild Thai cooking, Tamarind Thais kitchen will supply all the tamped-down flavors you want, leaving you with the question, Wheres the chili? Its menu is fairly representative, but youll find only the standards youd find at other area Thai restaurants. Good enough: the tod mun, the fried tofu, and the Drunken Noodles. What might spark more interest, besides a load of chilies, is some Thai décor and music. Its hard to feel in the Asian mood with pop music playing in the background.
