THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Terra di Siena Restaurant Review:
The simple, sophisticated and comfortable interior of this place adjacent to the Fox Theatre focuses on a two-story wine storage unit. Tables are nicely spaced, and the noise level (unless its jammed) is tolerable, despite lots of hard surfaces. The view of the street from a windowside table is fun. Dishes are rigorously authentic Italian, with a good Tuscan bean soup, rabbit rolled around foie gras and served on perfect greens, traditional pasta dishes (such as pappardelle with duck sauce), braised dishes (veal shank, beef) and thoroughly wonderful desserts. In the latter category, homemade biscotti and almond cookies come with a glass of vin santo. The wine list is entirely Italian, except for a few fine Champagnes and the half-bottle offerings, which are American. The list offers good values, too, such as the excellent A Mano Primitivo from Puglia. Several good choices are available by the glass. Finish with a good espresso, and dash to the theater.
