THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Thataway Cafe Restaurant Review

: Every town should have a place like Thataway Café, where people seem to congregate from noon until midnight. At lunch, the tables are filled with shoppers and office workers, while eat-on-the-run businessmen line the bar, watching the stock prices crawl across the TV screens. In the early evening, it's family time in the dining room, and then the pre-movie crowd arrives. After the end of the first show, one group moves out while the post-movie contingent comes in for a drink, light snack or dessert. And all the while, the bar jumps with the singles set. What precisely is the source of Thataway's appeal? For one, it's the allure of a comfortable atmosphere that invites customers to make it their own reliable favorite. And, of course, it's also the menu, which, like its name, is full of conventional, appealing "everyone's had or heard about it" dishes like the New England style clam chowder and buffalo chicken wings.
