THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Trattoria Il Panino Restaurant Review:
Of all the restaurants in this mini-chain, we like the original on Parmenter Street the best because of its more reasonably priced menu of Italo-American favorites, including good sandwiches and very good eggplant. Heading away form he North End, the Faneuil hall spot, offering two floors on which to dine, just may be the most authentic Boston restaurant in the vast Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Unfortunately, it also may be the most expensive. As for the others, when the owners decided to go upscale things became dicey-not to mention tacky and far too expensive. The multi-level Franklin Street spot maybe good looking, but its also a parody of itself in just as many ways. Think of Golds Gym meets the Godfather and youll get the picture. Nouveau riche best describes the fancier versions while funky and friendly describes the original in the North End.
