With its cozy atmosphere and well-crafted, seasonal food, Tulí truly is a midtown gem. The quarters are tight, with only a handful of tables, but the place is friendly and inviting. An outdoor patio doubles the space, and even in mid-winter the windshields and heaters make sitting outside a viable option. The menu changes daily and features salads, sandwiches, pizzas and small plates. Start with the house-made soup, such as the lemon cucumber, chile and mint, or one of the specialty salads, like the mixed greens with honey-roasted nectarines and warm goat cheese. For dinner, try the gnocchi with baby squash and sage brown butter, pork cheeks with pea shoots and fava beans, or fried Cornish hen with battered baby corn. Wash it all down with one of the dozens of wines available by the glass, and indulge in a dessert.
