THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Veerasway Restaurant Review:
Angela Lee (de cero, Sushi Wabi) already has successful spots on the street; here, though, Lee moves away from Mexican and Japanese cuisine and turns to India for inspiration. Don’t expect a buffet-style meal here; instead this chic 50-seater takes a fresh approach to Indian food, including both traditional dishes---chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh---and more modern ones, as in a flavorful shrimp salad with chili, ginger and cucumber raita and crispy chicken drumsticks with chili-dill sauce. Then there’s the matchstick-cut okra chaat fry---it’d be foolish to miss it. The innovative style also applies to the cocktails---try the Maharita, a satisfying take on a margarita. Plates are meant to be shared, but with tasty offerings like coconut scallops, you may not want to.
