This friendly neighborhood joint is a draw for locals and tourists alike. The easy-going waitstaff may not shower you with attention, but all is taken care of and it is clear there is warmth within the dining room. Salads are nicely sized, with vegetables seeming fresh from the garden either in the chopped salad with tomatoes, olives, zucchini and garlic-Parmesan croutons or the Caesar salad which could only be bettered by the addition of salty anchovies. Pizzas are started with organic dough, a thin layer of tomato sauce and mozzarella and can be topped with many house-chosen variations. Tables, though, are encouraged to come up with their own mix-and-match style from a long list including prosciutto, arugula and roasted eggplant. Be sure to leave room for the rich vanilla, chocolate or hazelnut gelato. On sunny days the patio makes for a perfect relaxing lunch spot.
