THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Vivanda Ristorante Restaurant Review:

The Pike Place Market area certainly doesn't want for fine dining, but Vivanda is a welcome addition to this bustling, vibrant neighborhood. Formerly a men's couturier, this chic and romantic L-shaped room feels a bit like a secret hideaway, poised as it is above Post Alley and Pine, looking out towards Elliott Bay. While the fare may not be cutting-edge inventive, we're perfectly fine with that. The focus of the menu is on seafood, gathered from near and far and prepared with a Mediterranean flair. If we feel the need for comfort food, the lobster macaroni and cheese infused with black truffle hits the mark, and prosciutto-wrapped monkfish medallions are also a delight. When in a meaty mood we can't resist spice-rubbed pork tenderloin with fruity chutney. Sometimes, after wandering through the market stalls, we like to drop in for happy hour, where appetizers are half price and we can get a fine glass of vino for a fiver. We never tire of the tiramisu, but for something lighter, try the creamy panna cotta, drizzled with passion fruit sauce. Service is mostly delightful.
