THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Wilsons Restaurant Review:
Robert Wilsons kilt announces his unique combination of restaurant de quartier and Scottish ethnicity, and the yellow and blue room incorporates restrained tartans and Scottish and Buddhist artefacts. There may be recorded music, but Wilson sometimes plays the liveliest of bagpipes. Specialties include salmon fishcakes with parsley sauce; and haggis with tatties, swede and a dram. Other successes range from simple pork and ham sausages with homemade piccalilli, to more elaborate marinated chargrilled chicken with curried cream and Cognac sauce. Steamed syrup pudding is like Scottish mothers once made, and a few well-chosen wines are backed up by selected single malt whiskies. Expect to pay around £35-£40 for a three-course meal for two.
