The Winchester Restaurant Review:

Located in an old, restored building in the heart of Eastown, The Winchester takes honors as one of the city’s first true gastropubs. The music is current but not deafening, the menu is creative but still includes classics and the service is pleasant (if a bit slow). Expect to find regulars saddled up to the bar and outside tables packed tightly during leisurely lunches in the summer. Portions are small, so you can start with an appetizer, such as baked goat cheese and tomato fondue or yucca fries with jalapeño aïoli, without worrying about spoiling your appetite. For dinner or lunch, opt for the Cuban Reuben, pulled pork with Latin slaw on a ciabatta roll, served with plantain chips, or the earthy, gooey portobello mushroom quesadilla. The restaurant places a strong emphasis on using homemade, local ingredients, and it shows. Also worth mentioning: The Winchester’s happy hour specials and beer menu both are impressive.
