Chicago-style pizza aficionados can overlook Zelda's questionable service and dated décor for a slice of the renowned pie. The ambience may be kitschy, but one bite of the flaky, buttery house-made crust and the negatives are quickly forgiven. The pastry crust takes center stage, overshadowing the toppings, which include the usual pepperoni and sausage as well as spinach, pesto and the local favorite, spinoccoli. The unconvinced can settle for one of the few sandwiches, pastas or salads on the menu. Insiders know to order their pies 30 minutes ahead so they're ready on arrival, or to pass the time by imbibing with one of the daily happy hour specials.
