Hotel Marques de Riscal

Located in the heart of the Rioja wine region, Frank Gehry's stunning masterpiece of a hotel is one of the area’s most fascinating attractions. Following a $77 million, eight-year renovation project, the original Marqués de Riscal winery was transformed into a living work of art — the flamenco-inspired exterior features canopies of pink, gold and silver titanium billowing from the rooftop. Along with the vineyards, the 24-acre property includes 43 stunning guest rooms and suites, a rooftop bar and lounge, a wine library and an outpost of Spa Vinothérapie Caudalie, where grapes figure prominently in the luscious treatments. The restaurant, under the direction of chef Francis Paniego, marries traditional Rioja and Basque cuisines.
