Most Russian Hill locals would be surprised to know that this tiny, sparkling ice cream shoppe with retro appeal (white tile, chrome detailing, white-aproned service and old-fashioned charm) helms the Swensen's Ice Cream empire that reaches all the way to Singapore. Established by Earle Swensen in the 1940s, the shoppe's product is rich, creamy and dense with flavor. Favorites include sticky chewy chocolate, peppermint, and any recipe featuring seasonal or exotic produce (yam, lychee, pumpkin). Note: The parlor provides counter service only, no seating available.
