Las Cabanas de Loreto
Las Cabañas de Loreto offers a magical world of ease

If you’ve been searching Mexico for an alternative to the busy resorts of Cancún, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta, there’s a secret getaway less than two hours south of the border in the heart of Baja Sur. Nestled between the towering mountains of the Sierra Las Gigantes and the azure Sea of Cortez, the historic town of Loreto is famous for its ideal weather, year-round fishing and rustic charms. But inside the gates of Las Cabañas de Loreto awaits a magical world of ease and personalized attention.

More laid-back than luxurious, Las Cabañas is an intimate setting of palm trees, swimming pool and hammocks surrounded by a beautiful two-story casa, a casita and four spacious studios. The casa is a furnished, air-conditioned home with a partial ocean view, two master suites — each with a queen bed and full bath — and a large, fully-equipped kitchen with a gas BBQ on the deck. Behind the main house, the air-conditioned casita also has two bedrooms, a full kitchen and partial ocean view; while each cabaña comes equipped with a kitchenette (including fresh coffee beans, a grinder and a blender!), a DVD/video player, air conditioning and ceiling fans. There’s also a guest laundry, video library, secure off-street parking on the grounds and, for those who need to stay connected, free Wi-Fi available poolside and in the rooms.

Dolphins At Play Coronado Beach close to Las Cabanas

From the moment you arrive at this private oasis, you feel as if you’re among friends.  With their expert knowledge, the gracious owners Jill and Rick Jackson, personally acclimate guests to the area and assist them in planning for their vacation needs.  Whether it’s saltwater fishing, snorkeling and diving in the Bahia de Loreto National Preserve, tennis and golf or excursions to historic missions, aboriginal cave paintings and whale watching, Jill and Rick are happy to recommend the best guides and help make  the arrangements.  If the beach is what you seek, it’s a short walk down the malecón; or you can ride one of the bikes they keep handy along with the kayaks and beach chairs provided free of charge.  Alternately, you can simply lie by the pool and take advantage of the communal refrigerator stocked with cold beers, fresh margaritas and soft drinks.

Casita Dwellings Outdoor Area at Las Cabanas

Less than two hours from Los Angeles by plane, with its simple yet personalized service, Las Cabañas de Loreto is an easy escape for a long weekend, a comfortable spot for a week of rugged exploring, and the perfect location for a group vacation.  Whether you rent one room or the whole place, it’s best to book your reservation well in advance as many of the guests are repeat customers.
