Lapostolle 2010 Canto de Apalta
Rapel Valley, Chile

Emblazoned with a bird on the label, Canto de Apalta ("Song of Apalta") takes inspiration from the singing birds that nest among the vines. A proprietary red blend, the 2010 vintage is composed of 36 percent Carmenère, 31 percent Merlot, 18 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 15 percent Syrah. It offers fruit-forward flavors of dark cherry, raspberry and blackberry with complex herbal notes and sturdy tannins. Pair it with hearty meat dishes.
