THIS RESTAURANT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED 2 Cents Restaurant Review:
On a side street just off Duval you’ll find 2 Cents, a hip hideaway catering to local foodies and savvy visitors alike. The custom designed space features futuristic graffiti art and steampunk fixtures by the bar and outside in an inviting patio space. Perhaps the island’s first gastropub, 2 Cents (helmed by longtime local tastemakers Chris Shultz and chef Chris Otten) serves up some of Key West’s most inventive cuisine. The menu is designed to cater to every appetite and occasion, from light bites at the bar (think, heirloom radishes sliced thin and crunchy served with sweet butter and fleur de sel, or 2c crispy wings marinated with garlic, cilantro and sweet chili sauce) to a mix-and-match dinner with items designed to share (Snake River Farms pork belly stuffed with brioche and cranberry relish, or citrus-marinated Bahamian conch ceviche, for instance). Divided into Snacks, Greens, Dip & Chips, Shells, Buns, Small Plates and Large Plates, the line-up is constantly changing at the chef’s creative whims and based on what’s fresh, seasonal and available. Daily specials are always a great choice. It’s without a doubt at the vanguard of Key West’s new-school dining scene.
