Located on Houston's west side, 713 is an ideal outside-the-loop place to take a date, hang out with friends or nosh on sushi. Here's a spot that offers a sleek modern setting---a nightclub feel---with both a lounge and dining area washed in neon backlighting of lavender, gold and purple. A good way to start is with the signature 713 martini, a crisp, cool concoction garnished with cucumber and pickled ginger. Pair that with the 713 roll, a luxurious number featuring blue crab meat and asparagus. Seafood main courses are done right, too, including delicate Chilean sea bass with silky miso sauce; blackened shrimp with crab meat-studded rice; and steamed mussels. A respectable rib-eye, filet mignon and various pastas are also available. For dessert, we suggest the fresh mango mousse.
