: Everyone from stylish couples to families and party-goers lines up for Ali Baba’s Turkish snacks. To start, share a pide, a boat-shaped pizza stuffed with cheese, vegetables or meats. Or opt for a selection of mezze including grape leaves; baby eggplant stuffed with fresh tomato and spices; and sigara boregi, flaky fried pastry rolls filled with parsley-accented feta. We also recommend the spicy beyti kebab, grilled chopped lamb with garlic and hot peppers; juicy marinated grilled chicken or lamb chops; and chunks of lamb in a flavorful tomato sauce with yogurt. Main dishes are served on a heap of buttery rice with grilled tomatoes, peppers and onions. Tasty sandwiches and salads are ideal for lunch as is the hearty lentil soup. You will want to linger over desserts such as baklava or kadayif (shredded wheat with walnuts) and strong Turkish coffee. |
