THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Aloha Theatre Cafe Restaurant Review:
What started out in 1932 as a theatre snack bar, frequented by the area's coffee farmers, has grown into a fun hangout where the fare has a Californian touch. On the lanai with splendid ocean views, the café offers breakfasts and lunches. Check out the waffles and three-egg omelets. Dinner is served in a French bistro-style interior, and you shouldn't pass up the fresh catch. We also love the homemade soups and salads with a choice of chicken, fish or tofu. For comfort, we turn to the bakery, from which a scrumptious assortment of pastries and oversized cookies flows. The coffee is 100 percent Kona coffee. The clientele ranges from residents in faded, torn T-shirts to businesspeople and a few camera-toting tourists. The friendly waitstaff is sometimes a little slow when the restaurant is packed. A small but decent wine list emphasizes California vintages, and here's your chance to try a variety of Hawaiian brews like Longboard Island Lager.
